Skipper’s Pier Restaurant & Dock Bar serves worldly cuisine with a focus on fresh seafood and seasonal ingredients presented in a simplistic way. The menu is written to encourage sharing and family style dining experiences. You can enjoy a table out on the pier or view the sites from inside a quiet dining room. Whether you come for crabs, fresh fish, the oyster shooter, a 10oz hamburger, a great steak or one of the other fabulous items off the menu – your meal will be prepared with the freshest ingredients and served by an experienced staff.
Owner & Executive Chef, John Kozik brings talent, lots of experience and skill to Skipper's Pier. John graduated from Scottsdale Culinary Institute and upon graduation worked as a cook for "A League of Our Own" in Phoenix, Arizona. From there John came back East and worked as a cook at Kinkeads in Washington, DC, and then as Sous Chef at "A La Belle Cuisine" in Falls Church. In 2004 John arrived at the Westlawn Inn where he designed and presided over the kitchen as Executive Chef for two years before he went back to work in some of Washington DC's finest restaurants.
John Kozik not only brings a diverse cooking background and skill to Skipper's but a talented and experienced kitchen staff as well. Executive Sous Chef Brian Hohl has worked for Chef John Kozik at various other establishments and graduated from Baltimore International College, one of Maryland's premier Culinary Arts Schools. Brian brings an unmatched level of skill and experience to the Skipper's Pier team.
If you are looking for a more casual afternoon or evening out, guests are welcome to sit at the Dock Bar where you can enjoy a beverage, food and watch the boats sail down Rockhold Creek.
